POP POTPURRI

Hey Fans, we have so much to cover. Once again, it has been awhile since my last blog. Sorry about that. My boyfriend was pretty sick and in the hospital. Thanks for everyone that sent get well messages. He is better and recovering quickly. Ok, on to all the juicy stuff.

I hope those of you that caught my news on the availability of tickets to "The Oprah Show", were able to secure your seats. On September 14th the diva kicks off her new season with Whitney Houston as her guest. This show should be pretty good. Winfrey sometimes does not do justice to a good celeb interview but, it being her season premiere, she should not let us down.

The new fall tv season has been keeping me on pins and needles. One show has me confused. ABC will have a show called "Hank" starring Kelsey Grammar. I'm not a fan at all. In 2007, Fox gave him "Back to You", and it was hardly funny. Look for my list of hits and misses for the fall 2009 season soon.
Now let's get into some juicy guilty pleasures. HBO already has me in tears as we grow closer to the end of season 2 for "True Blood". I sometimes talk about being let down by certain episodes but, i have to say I love more episodes than not. And it won't be until summer 2010 when we will see them again. Great job (again) Alan Ball. Loved "Six Feet Under" and you got me again. The other HBO show that has me sucked in, is "Big Love". It is a must see. Take this time before the new season starts to catch up on the previous. It's also not returning until 2010. It's worth the wait. The only thing i have heard so far is that there will be a major storyline for Aaron Paul this season. Juicy. Juicy.
On the talk show scene, if you have not watched "The Wendy Williams Show", get a fucking clue. It's great. Finally a show where you feel like your gabbing with a close girlfriend at a sidewalk cafe in nyc and gossiping about everyone that walks by. She is hilarious. GO WENDY!!! "How you doin' ?" Over at "The View", they have plans for a juicy new season. Since Elizabeth will be on maternity leave a juicy group of celebs will be filling her chair. Latoya Jackson, Victoria Beckham, and Kate Gosselin will be around for the month of September. The best rumor is that the show may be lifting it's ban on Kathy Griffin. Look for her (hopefully) in the month also. The queen, Oprah Winfrey, will launch into her 24th (yes) season on September 14th with Whitney Houston as the guest. This should be good. I also like her promos for the new season. The Black Eyed Peas remixed their "I got a feeling" for her theme song. Cut and paste this link to check it out: http://www.oprah.com/media/20090821-tows-season-premiere Whitney Houston makes for a great season premiere. Work it out O!! Jay-Z will also been on her show this season. Not sure how many seasons she will be yakking. I have a few friends that are interviewing for jobs at OWN (oprah winfrey network) which launches in 2010-11. Harpo has been mentioned as THE happiest place on earth...to work. (Sorry Disneyland)
In other tube news, Paula Abdul got her ass a job. She will be hosting the VH1 Divas Live show on September 17th. I have no idea why they chose her. But, than again she was a non-vocalist judging a singing competiton. My mom said "if you can't say anything nice".....September 26th "Saturday Night Live" has its season premiere with Megan Fox as host. Not sure if Fox can pull off comedy..it should be interesting to say the least. And one of my sources says she also may screen test for Catwoman in the new Batman movie. Now that would work for her..I also wanted to give snaps to Mtv. I may refer to some of their programming as just guilty pleasures. They had me smiling last week as I watched both "America's Best Dance Crew" and "Making His Band". Both shows have included transgendered women in their casts. And thanks to whoever the casting director was, they chose two talented, funny, and confident people. (instead of the cartoon like character casting they normally do) These shows are more watchable with that factor. The one show that continues to suck me in are those RW/RR challenges. Drama. Drama. Drama. Love it. Those producers will build a story arc out of cast members fart. "The Ruins" will not be silent or deadly when it premieres on Sept.30th.
And last, but not least. Heather Locklear is in talks to join a few episodes of "Melrose Place". Now we are talking. She was approached about being in the pilot but, declined after the storylines presented to her, were not very exciting. The producers have approached her again with new ideas. Let's hope they are better. That show needs her. Leighton, Calabro, Zuniga (2 episodes),and Bissett will once again make appearances.

  1. I am so on top of the new fall line ups, although I am deeply saddened that Battle Start Galactica is no longer with us. I am so lovin' Wendy Williams, she is so NJ! How you doin'? And I love, love, love wipe out! And I have to catch Oprah, I'm usually watching court shows when she comes on, but for Whitney, I'll watch. Oh and Dr. Oz. Although scary looking, he could get it! hehehe.
